ABS-CBN’s hit afternoon drama "Doble Kara" kept its Philippine daytime TV reign until the very end as its final episode which scored a national TV rating of 22.2%, or eight points higher than its rival program’s 14.2%, according to data from Kantar Media.

Filipino viewers tuned in to the intense and final battle of twin sisters Kara and Sarah, dual roles played by actress Julia Montes, against antagonist Alex (Maxene Magalona) who plotted to seek revenge by holding Kara captive during her daughter’s birthday party. In the end, evil failed to destroy Kara and Sarah’s happy and loving families and the two finally found forgiveness and love in their hearts.

The final episode also created buzz online and dominated social media trends in the country with its official finale hashtag #DKPagtataposNaPalaban, which made it to the top trending topics on Twitter. Ever since it premiered in August 2015, "Doble Kara" had been a consistent top rater across urban and rural homes in the Philippines. It is one of the most successful and longest-running dramas aired on Philippine afternoon TV and even earned lead star Julia the title Daytime Drama Queen.

"Doble Kara" revolved around the story of Sarah and Kara, twin sisters who grew up in a happy family despite an impoverished life. However, when Kara was diagnosed of leukemia, the twins’ mother was forced to separate the two and gave Kara to her real father because they could not pay for her medical treatment. The two crossed paths later on and conflicts started to brew when Sarah became jealous of her seemingly perfect sister.
