Strongest among male and female teens.

In this Filipino re-telling of the popular Korean drama “49 Days”, we first meet Diane whose life is storybookperfect. She is the apple of her parents’ eyes, adored by her two best friends and is engaged to be married to an almost perfect gentleman.
In another part of the city, Ysabel lives a life in total contrast. After her night shift, she goes home to her
rundown apartment at daylight where she lives alone, and sleeps until it is dark again. She has no family nor friends, and in the hours between work and sleep, she frequently contemplates suicide.

One fateful day, their lives become entangled when Ysabel finally decides to end her life by walking towards
an oncoming truck on the road. A stranger saves her life by pulling her to the side but her action causes
Diane’s car to crash into the car in front of it.

When Diane regains consciousness, she finds out that her physical body is now in coma and she is now a
wandering soul. She soon meets The Scheduler, a spirit assigned to guide souls of dead people to their final
destination. He explains to her that although she is brain-dead, it is not yet her time to die and is thus given
the chance to resume her life.

That is, after completing a mission within 49 days, which will require her to take over
Ysabel’s physical body while she sleeps.

Character Guide

Alex Gonzaga as Diane
24, an only child of a wealthy businessman, pampered, sheltered, and a Daddy’s Girl. She is Miss Optimistic and Cheerleader of the Year. Her daily goal is to cheer up her family, friends, and everyone who crosses her path. She thinks every problem in the world can be solved with a candy bar and a smile, two things that she is always ready to pull out from her pocket. The last thing she likes is to see someone sad, and the biggest thing she fears is to cause anyone any disappointment. As long as she knows that everybody is happy, so is she, and she would do and give anything to keep it that way.

Diane believes in destiny, serendipity and happily-ever-after. Until she figures in an accident that sends her into a coma and meets the Death Scheduler who gives her a task to gather three pure tears for a chance to go back to life. During this journey, she comes face-to-face with the hard truths of life, of herself and of the people she loves.

Yen Santos as Ysabel
26 years old, works at a burger joint on a night shift and sleeps during the day, lives alone and never talks to anyone except when necessary. She grew up in an orphanage with a bossom buddy, Jake, who later became her fiancé. When Jake died in an accident, Ysabel became a recluse, insipid, and spiritless. With nothing to live for, her only goal is to die and her hobby is courting death. Her lifestyle becomes useful and convenient when Diane’s soul is tasked to possess her body so she could complete her task.

Joseph Marco as Dave
24 years old, a non-practicing architect who prefers to cook and run a restaurant called Heaven to keep her mother’s dream alive. His friendship with Diane in high school ended in a misunderstanding. He never never got over it, but neither could bring himself
to patch things up with her because of the complexity of his emotions and the complicated situation they are in.

Dave holds a reputation for being cold, rude and arrogant, but people closest to him know that it’s just a shield to protect the hurt, vulnerable little boy he really is.

Matt Evans as Scheduler
His mission is to guide the dead to their final destination. As a spirit, he is curious, impulsive and carefree, but has a cynical view of the world of the living.

Arjo Atayde as Raymond
27 years old, a smart, well-mannered young gentleman, and Diane’s perfect fiancé. After earning an MBA in a reputable U.S. university and saving Diane’s life, he was offered a promising career in her father’s company and since proven himself capable and most trustworthy to take care of Diane and her family’s business.

Yam Concepcion as Kayla
24 years old, Diane’s caring and generous bestfriend who doesn’t mind giving her jacket for her friend to wear even if she herself is feeling cold. She comes from an underprivileged family, but her ambition, determination and the help of Diane’s family got through college, eventually earning Diane’s father’s confidence to hire her as executive secretary in his company. Her exposure to high society courtesy of Diane and family, coupled with the encouragement of the love of her life, taught her to dream bigger.

Anna Luna as Jackie
24 years old, Diane’s other bestfriend who always seems to disappear in the background. Although she comes from a well-to-do family, she is shy and an introvert and, as pastry chef, expresses her emotions only through the cakes and pastries she bakes. Only her bestfriends Diane and Kayla have to power to bring her out from her shell. Once she gets to know a person well, however, she does not hesitate to voice out her thoughts, sometimes to the point of being tactless. Except when it comes to her big crush, Dave, with whom she is always at a loss for words.

Arron Villaflor as Ronald
Late 20s, a regular customer at the burger joint where Ysabel works. He seems to be always on the lookout for her, showing up at unlikely places and saving her from accidents, but his presence never seems to make an impact to Ysabel. He is later revealed as a former ward mate in the hospital where she was taken after her first suicide attempt, who, since then found a reason to live by watching over Ysabel and making sure she lives.

EPIC SAGA “LA LUNA SANGRE” DEBUTS STRONGLY ON PH TV, TRENDS ON TWITTER WORLDWIDE After the success of the International Emmy-nominated “She Wolf: The Last Sentinel” (“Lobo”) and its sequel “Imortal,” the epic saga about werewolves and vampires continues on Philippine television as ABS-CBN premiered its highly anticipated third installment “La Luna Sangre” on its primetime evening block last Monday (June 19) that instantly soared high on national TV ratings and topped the trending topics on Twitter worldwide. According to data Kantar Media, “La Luna Sangre” hit a national TV rating of 33.9% combined urban and rural homes, more than double the rating of its rival program- a local adaptation of a Korean series- which only got 13.8 %. The episode’s official hashtag LaLunaSangreAngSimula (LaLunaSangreTheBeginning) also trended worldwide on micro-blogging site Twitter as fans shared positive feedback about the show’s top caliber production. “La Luna Sangre” is one of the biggest Filipino series to air this 2017. Helmed by box-office director Cathy Garcia-Molina and topbilled by the Philippines’ premiere actors John Lloyd Cruz; Richard Gutierrez; Angel Locsin, who was nominated for Best Actress in the International Emmy Awards; and sought-after young actors Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla of the global hit Filipino drama “La Promesa,” the show gives viewers the chance to continue their magical journey with well-loved characters of the now epic trilogy and gives them an upgraded viewing experience with the show’s special effects and action scenes. “La Luna Sangre” revolves around the prophecy that happened during the ‘bloodmoon,’ which says that the child of the most powerful vampire and the chosen wolf will end the evilness of the vampire imprinted with the cursed ink. This child is believed to be Malia (Kathryn Bernardo). After surviving an attack that left her orphan, Malia grows up under the care of other vampires and werewolves. Hoping that she is indeed the chosen one to save the vampires and werewolves great peril, they hold on to their faith in her. However, they begin to doubt Malia when she fails to show her powers after turning 21 years old – a significant change that will prove that she is the chosen one. Out of shame, Malia chooses to leave her responsibility and bravely faces the world of mortals. There, she meets Tristan, a young man who is hunting the vampire who killed his father. As their bond grows closer, will Malia be the key to the justice Tristan yearns for? Will Malia return to the world she left behind and re-embrace her destiny according to the prophecy? How will the prophecy affect the budding romance between Malia and Tristan? ABS-CBN’s content is made available across other territories through ABS-CBN International Distribution.
