Catherine is a poor girl who falls in love with Miguel. But Miguel’s mother – Isadora, prefers her son to marry the rich heiress Scarlet. She then sets up Catherine so Miguel would leave her.

In the city, Catherine rebuilds her life with the help of her grandmother and a wealthy benefactor who she marries and turns out to be Scarlet’s father.

As the wife of a billionaire and stepmother to her rival, Catherine uses her newfound power to wreak havoc on the lives of Isadora, Miguel, Scarlet, and the people around them. Soon, she becomes a heartless woman obsessed with only one thing – revenge.

Another childhood friend, Rafael, has been secretly in love with Catherine despite his mother’s firm disapproval. He helps Catherine overcome her rage, making her realize that only by letting go of past hurts would she attain the happiness she longs for.
